Curtain rod technology
How do I mount a curtain rod?
Curtain rods that need to cover a long distance are fixed to the wall above the window using aesthetically beautiful mounts. Depending on their length, intermediate support brackets may be used. These brackets are also aesthetically pleasant and complement the design of the curtain rod. In the kitchen or bathroom, clamping or bistro rods are frequently used. This variety is simply affixed between the window frames without screws or drilling. The curtains are located immediately in front of the window, usually only covering it partly to provide optimum privacy protection and sufficient light at the same time.
Delicate ropes constitute a modern alternative to classical curtain rods. They are affixed with curtain clips or hooks for a relaxed decoration with transparent fabrics. Tension brackets that are securely incorporated into the wall transfer tensile stress to the rope while providing an visual highlight by the window. In addition to wall brackets, we also offer recess mounting systems. They create rope tension between one recess and another.
What is a curtain rod?
Curtain rods are attached to the wall above the window and ensure that the lower curtain and the decorative hanging are free to flow in the desired wave shape. The textile window decoration is either pulled over the rod via loops or attached using a folded band. The transparent lower curtain normally covers the entire window while ensuring that the room receives enough light without granting outsiders views inside. The decorative hangings are made from opaque materials and can be attached on one or both sides. If required, they can be attached using a separate rod and pulled closed.
Which rooms are suitable for curtains?
In general, curtains lend any kind of room an additional touch of comfort and cosiness. The modern, purist style of interior design initially frowned upon the idea of covering of large windows: curtains would make the room too comfortable. Today, transparent polyester fabrics, casual linens and delicate colours have turned these views of modern interior design upside down. In addition, beautifully purist curtain rods in stainless steel joined the stage, giving the art of window decoration a new mode of expression. In bedrooms and children’s rooms, it is important to choose a fabric that darkens the room adequately. A combination of roller or pleated blinds and decorative hangings is also recommended. From which length do curtain poles require an intermediate beam?
This depends on the diameter of the rod: from 160cm to 200cm, an intermediate beam is installed.
What does the length specifications mean when ordering curtain poles?
The length always refers to the length of the rod without any end pieces.
Why do I need round rods or inner rails?
Round rods are used for eyelet or loop panels. Inner rails are used for sliding curtains or decorative hangings with gliders or rollers. Both rods can be combined on a pole system, allowing the curtain to be moved easily in front of the window (using the inner rail), while the side hangings are normally fixed (to the round rod).
Where can I install curtain poles or a curtain rod?
The pole systems are generally supposed to be attached to the wall. For a ceiling installation, a special support is required. Wall mounts are available for most rod diameters.
